Maternal Health Awareness, 2024

New Jersey celebrates Maternal Health Awareness throughout the month of January, and in honor of the events, NJEA recently published a blog post with related resources for educators. I was invited to contribute to the post to highlight some of my advocacy work as the Bergen County representative to NJEA’s Women in Education Committee.

Check out the full calendar of Maternal Health Awareness Day events held throughout the state by New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy’s #NurtureNJ partners.

Thank you to NJEA and to my fellow Women in Education Committee members, in particular, for your ongoing efforts to raise awareness about women’s health issues and share resources for teachers who are also parents!

P.S. I decided to celebrate Maternal Health Awareness by writing and submitting an Op-Ed about a maternal health issue to a NJ newspaper. Fingers crossed, I’ll have more details to share soon!
